Priya began her career as a software engineer at Infosys. Later she quit her job and entered the world of mass media where she worked as a news presenter on Puthiya Thalaimurai for three years. After quitting Puthiya Thalaimurai TV, she forayed into acting with Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai on STAR Vijay.
Lately, she is planning to pursue an MBA degree as per the sources reported by the Deccan Chronicle. She had played the lead role in Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai until November 2016 which is a remake of Ye Hai Mohabbatein on Star Plus.. and. she hosted the show Kings of Dance on STAR Vijay alongside Kavin Raj (Saravanan Meenatchi Vettaiyan). As stated in an interview with Vikatan, Priya is now planning to venture into the silver screen.
